Frequently Asked Questions
about Skate School

Below you will find some helpful information and tips that address some frequently asked questions regarding Skate School.   Please feel free to call Diane Jenkins  for additional information at (972)731-9600.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to get skates and then meet at the rink doors to get to your class.  Each class has a blue sign on the glass next to the space where the class will be held.  If you are late the teacher can not stop class to assist you.  Please see the front desk to get into your class.
  • Get skates in your shoe size and lace them to the top snuggly.  If there are extra laces wrap them at the top of the boot.
  • Wear long pants and bring gloves and thin socks.  The ice is chilly so your class will be enjoyed more if you are dressed in winter clothing.
  • Please go to the restroom before classes.  Children will not be attended to if they need to use the restroom.  The teachers must stay with the class.
  • Please do not leave your child during class.  We are not responsible for your child after classes.  After the classes are finished they will be let off to find you.  Please be aware of when classes end so they can meet you in our lobby.
  • If you miss a class you can make it up.  Just see the front desk to get another day and time to attend.  Check in with us when you take your make-up class to receive a pass to go to class.
  • Please leave the doors closed during class.  We like to keep the students' attention  on the teacher.  It's best to talk with your child before or after class.
  • Use your passes to polish your skills.  There are 8 free admissions and skate rentals on the bottom of your nametag.  These are designed to help you learn your class skills.  They can be used for any public session during the course of your semester.
  • Put your nametag somewhere safe.  This tag allows you to go to class, tracks your skills on the back and has your passes at the bottom.  It's not replaceable so keep it somewhere safe.
  • Enjoy your time with us.  If you have additional questions see our front desk and we will be happy to help you.
