Learn to Skate Q&A’s

Q. If my child is enrolled in a current Learn to Skate class, does he/she get free public skate passes?
A. The student may skate for free on the actual day of Learn to Skate classes. Please see our schedule of classes and public skate times under the Learn to Skate tab on our website. The student must have their Learn to Skate Badge to receive the free public ice time, as well as to enter their class.

Q. What should I do with the Learn to Skate Badge?
A. Keep your badge in a safe, convenient place and bring it with you every time your skater wants to attend a class. Replacement cost of a lost badge will be $5.00 each time.

Q. What should I do after I get my child registered in Learn to Skate?
A. Wear tall socks, long pants, and wear a warm coat and gloves.
       Please arrive 30-45 minutes early to get your skates on and tied and get ready to skate.
       Get the skates in your shoe size and lace them to the top.
       If there is a little extra lace, wrap them around the top of the boot.
       Please take your child to the restroom before class.
       Coaches must stay with the class and cannot escort the child out.
       Each class has a Blue Sign. Find the class your child is enrolled in and meet your coach at the sign.
       If you are late, the coach cannot stop class to assist you. Please see the front desk for assistance.
       If you are more than 10 minutes late, your child may not enter the current class.

Q. May I leave my child while they are in a Learn to Skate class?
A. Please do NOT leave your child during classes. After the classes are finished they will be released off the ice to come find their parent or guardian. We are not responsible for the children after class.

Q. Where can I purchase figure skates and figure skating accessories?
A. The Ice at Stonebriar now has a Pro-Shop. We are in the process of stocking the store with various necessities. Please come by and see what exciting new items we have. We have Jackson Boots in all sizes available or available to order. We will also be stocking tights, guards, soakers, practice dresses and more.
